Regulations on fasting & Abstinence
For members of the Latin Catholic Church, the norms on fasting are obligatory from age 18 until age 59. When fasting, a person is permitted to eat one full meal, as well as two smaller meals that together are not equal to a full meal. The norms concerning abstinence from meat are binding upon members of the Latin Catholic Church from age 14 onwards.
Members of the Eastern Catholic Churches are to observe the particular law of their own sui iuris Church.
If possible, the fast on Good Friday is continued until the Easter Vigil (on Holy Saturday night) as the "paschal fast" to honor the suffering and death of the Lord Jesus, and to prepare ourselves to share more fully and to celebrate more readily his Resurrection.

Palm Sunday of the Lord's Passion
Palms will be available to all parishioners and friends at every Mass.
- For the 4 pm Mass, there will be procession from the main entrance of the church at 4 pm.
- For the Portuguese Mass on Saturday at 7 pm, the community will gather in the large hall of the Parish Center for the blessing and procession at 7 pm.
- For the 12 Noon on Sunday, the Spanish community will gather in the large hall of the Parish Center at Noon for the blessing and procession to the church.
We will follow our regular Mass schedule for Palm Sunday weekend.

The following is our parish schedule for the Triduum and Easter Sunday:
The Sacred Triduum
The Sacred Triduum is the most sacred and solemn feast of the Church's year. It begins at sunset on Holy Thursday and marks the end of Lent. It last for three days and involves four separate, distinct, and wholly unique liturgies whose details date the early centuries of the Church's prayer and practice.
Good Friday is not a holy day of obligation. The Church prohibits the celebration of the Mass so that we may feel the separation from the Lord that the disciples did in abandoning him. It is however a day of fast and obligation. Beyond any Lenten practice or discipline that the faithful have kept during the 40 days of Lent they are encouraged to continue the same from after the Mass of the Lord's Supper on Thursday until the celebration of the Resurrection at the Easter Vigil on Saturday evening. On Holy Saturday, Mass may only be given as viaticum to the dying and Mass may not begin before sunset so that it takes place in whole darkness.
Since we are limited to only one liturgy during these days, we invite those who usually attend morning Mass to join us in praying the Liturgy of the Hours at the usual morning time of 9 AM on these days.
